Richard is also responsible for managing the HAM (amateur radio) initiative, in which Mark will talk to school learners live from the International Space Station.

Richard has a background in information systems and has specialised in developing global banking systems for both the retail and commercial banking markets. He has fulfilled various roles in the industry and has worked as a project manager. He recently returned to Cape Town after spending three years in the United Kingdom.
