Ravi Naidoo

Ravi Naidoo is the founder and managing director of Interactive Africa, the Cape Town-based company project-managing the First African in Space mission.

Ravi completed his MBA degree at UCT in 1994, where he was nominated as the Nedbank MBA Student of the Year. Ravi also has a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Physiology from UCT.

Besides the three years as an Account Director at Young and Rubicam (90-93), where Ravi managed a few multinational accounts, his main business focus has always been on media, marketing and project management.

In 1994, Ravi founded Interactive Africa, a marketing and communications company, that has blue-chip clients in the sport, tourism and high-tech sectors. One of the company's more recent projects has been the marketing of South Africašs Bid to host the 2006 Football World Cup.

Ravi is also the co-founder of CITI, the Cape IT Initiative, a non-profit company is dedicated to promoting the IT cluster in the Western Cape. He also started the International Design Indaba, one of the world's leading design events.

Ravi has served on the Boards of Captour, the Cape Tourism Authority and UCT's Graduate School of Business. He also consulted to the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games company, and assisted in their successful campaign.

Ravi craves sloth, but has not had the time for it, especially in the last eight years. He loves sport and travel, so has cunningly contrived to go to every major sports event in recent years!
